I’ve written a Script-fu plugin for the Gimp which splits an image up like this one for New York, but automagically. It’s not as spiffy in the final appearance but it does the job.

Right now I can’t put it up on the site as I can’t ssh into deadsquid from this hotel. For those who don’t know, you can sync arbitrary photos to your iPhone, but then it RESIZES them to a lower resolution.
