I prefer to use my own headphones, as opposed to the iPod earbuds, which seem to be the only ones that work with the iPhone. But because Apple designed the iPhone with a recessed headphone jack, most of its customers don’t have the liberty to use their own headphones without an iPhone adapter that costs $10.
