Yesterday I installed the Ringtone application that is available in installer.app via the source: http://i.danstaface.net. The current version is 2.86 and is capable of converting songs from your library in your iPhone, directly. It takes about 1 minute to process a song but it is very convenient not to have to use other software. It also saves you the price you have to pay in iTunes.
My tests were very positive and a recommendation to all unlocked iPhone users. Install at own risk of course!

I have found that although the ease of selecting what song from your iPhone gallery is great the biggest issue I had was not being able to Silent the programme with the silent button on the side of the handset.
But the only way is to uninstall the programme each time I need it on Silent as it quits when attempting to activate it again.
