Waze GPS app already updated!
• Apps • Car integration • Videos

Brussels, Robin Bollen // Nov 25, 2009

iPhone car integration

A few days ago, we reported here that Waze was released in the App Store. The GPS apps are popping up like mushrooms on dog poop in the App Store now-a-days.

The Turn-by-Turn GPS application Waze, utilizes crowd sourcing technologies to make your daily driving experience a bit better and quicker. But it all comes down to your help too! Just download it, it is free.

In my first report I told you about a not so successful attempt to use the app. This was indeed the growing pains of the release date, too many users trying to connect at the same time. A few days later the app started working fine for me, and I could see user reports about traffic jams and police reports. I noticed that the app was used a lot in The Netherlands and some other countries around me in Belgium. I sometimes fire up the app and start munching roads.

Waze contacted us today with the great news that their app is already updated with the following cool features (and checkout the funny video!);

Verizon takes aim at iPhone’s limitations
• Apps • Videos

NY, Tony Karakashian // Oct 19, 2009.

In a move sure to make sure you’ll never have an iPhone on their network, Verizon has a new commercial for their Google Android-based phone that attacks Apple’s technology offering.

Apparently, Verizon just completed reading “How To Win Friends And Influence People”. I’m most interested to how Apple responds to this ad. I’m sure it’s going to raise some hackles, but Apple really has no one to blame but themselves. These ARE valid, persistent limitations of the platform. People have been pointing them out and complaining about them since the first release.

For the most part, Apple’s response has been “meh”. The only time, for example, they put any effort into addressing complaints of developers in regard to the AppStore was when the FTC investigated their rejection of the Google Voice app. Complaints from customers and developers got no results.

I-pong said in Fixing iPhone error 13019 when syncing with iTunes 8.2:

Resolution
Please update to iTunes 9. If updating to iTunes 9 does not resolve the issue, please continue:

The error will most commonly occur while syncing music. This issue can be resolved by following these steps:

1.Select the iPhone or iPod touch in iTunes under Devices.
2.Click the Music tab and under the Sync music option, choose Selected playlists.
3.Deselect the Voice Memos playlist.
4.Click Apply and then click Sync.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, check the device and the iTunes library for duplicate voice memos. If you find any duplicate voice memos, delete the duplicates and then sync.

If those steps do not resolve the issue, then follow these steps:

1.Select the iPhone or iPod touch in iTunes under Devices.
2.Click the Music tab and deselect the Sync Music option.
3.Click Apply and then click Sync.
4.After the sync is complete, reselect the Sync Music option.
5.Click Apply and then click Sync.
If the Error 13019 occurs while syncing content other than music (applications, podcasts, and so on), then perform the same steps above but uncheck the content that stops syncing with Error 13019.

If the steps above do not resolve the issue, attempt to sync an empty iTunes music library to the device while logged in as a new admin user. Follow these steps to create a new admin user:
