Nokia has updated its m.maps.nokia.com mobile maps website with voice-guided, turn-by-turn walk navigation for use on iOS and Android devices.
Nokia told iOS and Android users, “[t]here’s no need to be stuck with other mapping services anymore. You can also access Nokia Maps’ extensive Places directory and high quality directions on m.maps.nokia.com and, from today, you’ll get voice-guided walk navigation too.”

In the recent kerfuffle over the prevalence of the -webkit CSS prefix and the lack of corresponding prefixes for other browsers, we told you that the problem was with developers, not WebKit browsers. Talk about an interesting day on the Apple (AAPL) iPhone and iPad ecosystem front. First, Amazon (AMZN) introduced what it called the Kindle cloud reader, which is really an HTML5-based way to route around Apple’s effort to skim e-commerce revenue from app vendors. Then Wal-Mart (WMT) rolled out a new HTML5 Vudu video streaming app.

Google has updated it’s cloud based word processing web-app, Google Docs. iPhone, Android smartphone and iPad owners will now be able to edit their documents on the go using the new application.
Hitting English speaking countries in the next few days, those with iOS devices on firmware version 3.0 or higher, or using Android Froyo devices, will benefit from the new changes.

Google’s already come in for a skip-load of criticism over the privacy implications of its new social-networking service, Buzz. And to be fair to Google, it’s reacted pretty swiftly to some of the worst excesses.
Yet, the problems with Buzz auto-following your Gmail contacts and then announcing who they are to the rest of the internet pale into “so what?”

Google Voice just got a little better on the iPhone, thanks a new Web site for iPhone users, google.com/voice/m. As iPhone users will painfully recall, Apple last year rejected Google’s iPhone-native Google Voice app, leaving those who wanted to use Google Voice with what was at first a bare and limited Web-based app. But one of the big advantages of the new HTML 5 spec, which the iPhone’s Safari browser supports, is that it lets Web developers bring more application-like functionality to Web apps. The new site is proof of that.

The Konami code refers to a cheat code sequence for Nintendo devices invented by Kazuhisa Hashimoto in the mid 1980s. The code was intended to help during testing, allowing debugging of advanced game play without having to spend the time or effort actually getting to those levels. Normally, a player has to earn abilities over time. The cheat code Easter egg lets you jump from n00b-skillz directly into mad hax0r3d power. Over time, the Konami code gained traction and has been used and re-used in many games and websites since.

Currently available for iPhone and Android phone users in the U.S., “Near me now” utilizes GPS for determining your whereabouts and then searches for results near your location.

Mount your iPhone securely with iGO primo's Car Dock by NNG:Some GPS apps have volume control in the settings menu, I have the same issue sometimes with Navigon, I start driving with the volume of the iPhone normal and then I don’t hear the Voice instructions until I boost the volume in the settings of the app.
