Yesterday, at the Apple music event in San Francisco, I had a short chat with Apple CEO Steve Jobs, as he strolled through the demo room for the media, just after he had announced various updates for the iPod, Apple TV and iTunes onstage.

The iPhone 4’s epic launch of 1.7 million units sold globally in 3 days was largely overshadowed by the numerous problems afflicting the phone. Foremost is the phone’s antenna problems, which make its most basic functionality – making phone calls – troublesome for some users. Apple’s solution thus far has been to tell current generation purchasers to live with the issues and to give them a free case, which insulates the phone in order to prevent signal disruption.

Google will release an iPhone version of its currently Android-based Google Goggles app by the end of the year, Google executives said Monday.
In a presentation at the Hot Chips conference at Stanford University, David Petrou, a project lead of Google Goggles, described the future of Goggles.

Naturally, despite the recent launch of the iPhone 4, I’ve already began speculating about what to expect from Apple’s next invention, the iPhone 5. We’ve already had the rumour that the next handset will work as an electronic wallet, which would be very cool indeed, but what else could Apple do to make it extra special?

I almost always lug around my DSLR when travelling more than a few miles away from home. I often bring it to family functions, out to dinner, weddings and and other events. But as you can imagine, the giant rig isn’t always the right tool for the job and I sometimes substitue my Canon S90, a remarkable point and shoot. But I haven’t used the Canon S90 once since I got my iPhone 4.

A recent Facebook blog post estimated that there were over 150 million Facebook users interacting with the service via their mobile devices.
It now appears the company were a little conservative in their estimates, with figures from the official application pages of the Facebook clients on different smartphones showing that the total was a lot higher than what was quoted.

CNNMoney.com reports on a recent survey from market research firm Yankee Group showing 73% of surveyed U.S. iPhone customers being “very satisfied” with AT&T as their carrier provider. At Apple’s press conference to address iPhone 4 reception issues, the company announced that it has sold 3 million iPhone 4 units to date.
Although 1.7 million devices were sold in the first three days following the release, breaking the three million mark in just over three weeks is nothing short of stunning. To put all of this in perspective, remember that it took 74 days to sell the first million units of the original iPhone.
