After the series of Vietnam leaks, Apple’s next generation iPhone model dubbed as iPhone 4G is the most awaited smartphone in the recent times. The leaks did not end there. The iPhone Portugal portal guys got their hands on some aluminum chassis and inner components of iPhone 4G. The iPhone Portugal portal guys believe that those example chassis are authentic. Photos of new iPhone third-party protective cases show accessories that were designed to meet the physical form factor of Apple’s prototype fourth-generation handset.

As first discovered by HardMac, the cases from China feature the same rounded corners found in two prototype iPhones that leaked to the public. The back of the case features a larger space for both the camera and accompanying flash, and the side features holes for two rounded volume buttons.

At this point in the game I’m pretty much bored with the whole iPhone HD leak meme. In a twisted way, the run up to Apple launches was a lot of fun. There was endless speculation but no real data and all of a sudden a guy in a turtleneck and jeans pops out and, like Mephisto, springs something new on the world. Foxconn will ship 24 million units of Apple’s latest iPhone 4G with shipments starting in June, according to Digitimes senior analysts Ming-Chi Kuo citing sources from Taiwan-based component makers.

Foxconn will ship 4.5 million units in the first half and 19.5 million units for the rest of 2010. Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 4G on June 7, 2010 during Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference.

Recently released iPhone OS 4 Beta 3 has revealed that Apple is planning to provide 1280×720 HD resolution video capturing instead of the standard 640×480 VGA resolution. The iPhone OS 4 Beta 3 firmware has got two preset values in some of the new API improvements where it revealed that the next generation iPhone (iPhone 4G) might come with the HD video recording feature.

The so-called iPhone 4G prototype, reportedly lost at a bar in California and then dissected in a now-infamous post by tech blog Gizmodo, offers some hints as to Apple’s thinking in realms such as video social networking. Meanwhile, a Daring Fireball post suggests that, based on the barcode on the device, the dissected unit could be very close to the final version of the next-generation iPhone. The Apple engineer who allegedly lost the device has been offered a free trip to Germany to drown his sorrows.
