Brussels // iPhoneTunes.net // 7.08.2009. The first problems after the iGO My Way 2009 installation in the iPhone, have appeared.
Some users with previous installations of Navigon and Sygic, have seen these apps not working anymore. If they work, they take a lot of time to catch the GPS signal. For other users, the iGO app does not work at all.
In some iPhone models, the problem could be resolved turning off the 3G signal. Having both signals, GPS and 3G working simultaneously, can cause problems.
Finally, it could be also a hardware failure (try to run Google Maps, if it doesn’t work, this could be a sign of a hardware issue). In this case, the solution will be sending the device to Apple’s repair line. Some users have claimed that, after a hardware repair, the iPhone works perfectly.
UPDATE
If you have inaccurate GPS positioning, you can try this fix:
* Navigate to Settings>General>Network>Enable 3G and toggle to “OFF”.
* Locate yourself using the iPhone 3G’s GPS receiver.
* Navigate to Settings>General>Network>Enable 3G and toggle to “ON”.
or you can try this one:
* Go to settings, general, auto-lock, change it from 1 Minute to NEVER.
* Go to settings, general, reset, reset network settings (THIS WILL REBOOT YOUR iPHONE).
* Go outside, in a clear place with NO tree’s, buildings, or anything blocking your view of the sky.
* Open “MAPS”, click NO on all that wi-fi crap, then click the little gps icon, and let it sync up with the satellites (this could take a few minutes).
