The Turn-by-Turn voice guided GPS app market keeps extending in a rapid speed. Yesterday we covered the NDrive clone Ituran, thinking to not have GPS news for the coming weeks, to find out today that there are again two new Turn-by-Turn GPS apps.
Falk Navigator
Falk has already lots of city maps in the App store and now they are combining this with a GPS app. The software looks exactly like CoPilot Live, the views, the maps, the menus. You can purchase In App City Guides for 3,99 Euro which integrate with the GPS application. So it is a combination of CoPilot and Flak maps.

Falk Navigator has already two edition; D-A-CH for 49,99 Euro and Europe for 79,99 Euro. Note that you can buy CoPilot Live D-A-CH for 33,99 Euro and CoPilot Live Europe for only 64,99 Euro. So you pay a premium for the city guide integration, which you need to buy separate. There are 30 Guides and in the DACH edition, Vienna is already default installed.
I am curious to see if this model works.

Twonav
Another new GPS app kid on the block is Twonav. The application looks more like an outdoor GPS app with the ability to enable it for on the road navigation.
Twonav has unlimited and FREE MAP Online included:
• Full coverage of Spain and Italy with topographic (1:25 000) and orthophotos (50cm/pixel).
• Full coverage of USA and Canada with topographic maps from MyTopo (enhanced and seamless version of USGS dataset, with US Forest Service updates, and the official DRCan maps).
• OpenStreetMap and OpenSreetMap Cycle Map worldwide coverage.

To enable it as an Turn-by-Turn Voice guided GPS application you need to buy a Tele Atlas Vmap in http://www.compegps.com website will allow you to activate the Onroad mode of TwoNav without software change (just putting the maps in maps folder). With all the classical GPS car navigator features, you will discover all the power of your TwoNav dual navigation. Main features (if unlocked):
• Turn-by-turn voice guidance
• Speed limit/camera alerts
• Search by address, map, historic…
• Favorites manager
• Short recalculation time
The app costs 49,99 Euro or $64.99. I have check out the compegps.com site and the V-maps prices are not really cheap next to the fact that they are from Q4 2008;
