Now that the iPhone hacking scene has finally delivered a untethered working jailbreak, I show you in 5 simple steps how to open up your iPhone or iPad with an A5 CPU.
Step 1. Download GreenPois0n Absinthe
a) OS X
b) Linux
c) Windows
Step 2. On your iPhone go to Settings > General > Passcode Lock > Turn Passcode Off. If this setting is grayed out, it is likely because you have an exchange email account enforcing additional security policy rules. Delete that first (Settings > Mail > “Choose your account” > Delete Account) and you will see that you can disable it now.
Step 3. Make a backup of your iPhone. Go to Settings > General > iTunes Wi-Fi Sync > Sync now, or via the conventional way, plug the iPhone in the Computer > start iTunes > Select your iPhone on the left and press Sync.
Step 4. Start GreenPois0n Absinthe you just downloaded
Step 5. Follow the instruction in the application, at one point it asks you to unlock your iPhone and press the GreenPois0n icon, which continues the jailbreak. Also note the afterwards you have the Cydia icon.
Optional steps:
- Add your exchange account again
- Add a passcode lock
