Sygic Mobile Maps Europe gets more iPhone-friendly and brings fresh new look
Finally Mobile Maps Europe version 8.0.1 has been delivered. It was already announced mid last month but was delayed because of a technical iTunes issue. This is the biggest update to date and a very welcome one, to keep Sygic in the top of the GPS apps market. Here is what they have to say;
“In this major Mobile Maps update for iPhone, that we are providing to our customers for free, we have tried to include maximum of the features our users demanded so far, as well as our own ideas to make the app even more useful and user-friendly. We are thankful to all people who have provided their feedback on our product. We hope they’ll like the results and we encourage them to speak to us anytime they’d like to share any comment or idea.” says Michal Stencl, Sygic’s CEO.
The more the winter is loosing its cold grip on Europe, the more the unveiling of the new iPhone 4G is nearing. We have already been speculating about coming iPhones. One prediction was a cheaper iPhone in February, I guess we can strike that one out from the rumor list after next week.
A new rumor surfaced in the beginning of the month about a HD video codec found in the latest SDK and some other rumor evidence about new iPhone 4G parts have been found last week.
Mobile World Congress, Barcelona – Leading mobile GPS navigation developer ALK Technologies has announced that its CoPilot® Live™ v8 GPS navigation mobile app will now include integral access to local Internet search as standard across all supported smartphone platforms.
Previously available as a premium option, CoPilot Live v8’s integrated access to local search enables users to quickly and easily find whatever they are looking for, whether it’s the nearest service, product, brand or shop. Search results are displayed in the on-screen map or as a list. Make your choice and CoPilot Live will guide you right there, with on-screen and spoken turn-by-turn directions.
Users can now teach waze their alternative route preferences to frequent destinations, plus see how they stack up against the local and worldwide competition
Waze, the first free provider of driver-generated maps and real-time road information geared towards everyday driving, today announced a new version featuring personalized alternative routes as well as a scoreboard, allowing commuters to see where they stand among the larger driving community in their area.
Waze specializes in optimizing everyday driving. Unlike regular navigation, when commuting, users most often have clear preferences for specific routes, and know the alternatives. The information that they are missing is: what’s happening on my alternative routes RIGHT now, and which route they should take. Waze’s new alternative routes feature is personalized, allowing users to teach waze the multiple routes to destinations that they commonly travel to.
It seems unlikely that the word crisis would disappear from our life in the near future. Controlling our personal financial status has been always important but, these days, it seems even more important. There are many applications for financial management and banking supervision for the iPhone, hard to choose between a range this wide. Today we will analyze SplashMoney from SplashData. The version I’ve tested is 4.7.2, the update was made in December last year.
Nav4D has just released several edition of their brand new Turn-by-Turn Voice guided GPS app. In just a few days they released for the following editions; Brazil, France, UK - Ireland, Mexico, Portugal, Germany, Spain and South Africa.
The application looks very basic, although it also incorporates the 3D landmarks, like iGO My way and NDrive. There is not much info yet available at this moment. It has POI support, some POI search and 2D and 3D views.
To celebrate the Year of the Tiger, Rockstar Games is pleased to announce a special price promotion with Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for iPhone and iPod touch. Starts Friday 12th February and will end next Monday 15th at 05:59 am ET Spanish. One of the most rated games for laptops will have a 30% discount on the iTunes App Store.
Happy Chinese New Year!
