Yesterday CoPilot Live NA has been updated in the App Store. The announced new features have been delivered.
Now the maps have been updated, I have read forums where some people were complaining about not-up-to-date maps, so this should be rechecked with this new version. To me it is not clear if the map data still comes from ALK or from NAVTEQ like the EU Edititon. Dial a Point of Interest is now possible. This was already active in the Europe Edition.
Another important update is improved GPS performance and last but not least the app auto-restarts after income phone calls.
We will test the new features anytime soon and let you know the results here, or update the last review.

New iPhone viewable How-To site published by Apple
It was just about a year ago that I got my iPhone. I remember all too well the joy of fiddling around with everything and trying out all of the features. As an engineer, I almost never read manuals. While it’s fun to figure out how to use something on its own, it’s also nice sometimes to have it all spelled out for you. Apple’s got a great howto site that gives you instructions on how to use every feature of your spiffy bit of high technology.
If you’re a new iPhone owner, or if you’ve had yours for a while, this is a great resource. Even people like me who think they’ve seen it all will find new things.
TomTom was the only GPS app producer in the iTunes App Store that kept silent for so long time, about possible updates and improvements for the next release.
Navigon has done this here, Sygic also listened very fast to it’s customers, iGO My way gave us some exclusive content and even CoPilot Live already mentioned the updates. Well that all has changed. TomTom has posted a reaction to the customer base on iTunes.
It reads as follows;
On 17 August 2009 TomTom launched its first navigation solution for iPhone and it’s been very well received…
I had been very much looking forward to trying out CoPilot from ALK Technologies. ALK has a long history of providing GPS navigation on other smartphone platforms, so this wasn’t a new fish in the growing sea. The reviews I’d read online were absolutely mixed on their products, this iPhone version of CoPilot especially. You either loved it or hated. I had considered writing a full review of the product, but in the end I’d spend most of the time comparing it Sygic, so following the format of Robin’s original TomTom vs navigon let’s put ‘em to the test.
• Text-to-Speech, finally it speaks out street names, could be funny living in Brussels where all streets have 2 names, some are in Dutch others in French spoken by the app. With the English voice selected it will get the funny ‘Allo Allo’ accent.
• iPod Control, enjoy Guns and Roses (at least that is what the devs at Navigon listen) while cruising, do not forget to impress your friends with the new 3D page-up curl effect.
• Location Sharing, start encouraging your (girl)friends to also buy Navigon so you can date anytime, it makes sure you arrive together in the same hotel. And doing this at night goes now even better, because of the new Day/Night auto-switching.
Yesterday, the latest game from Gameloft for the iPhone, Blades of Fury went on sale in the App Store . According to the description you can read in the App Store, it is the first arcade fighting game in 3D for the iPhone.
You can choose between ten different characters, all with features and weapons. Each character can perform 20 different types of attacks, and are exclusive to each character. There are ten available scenarios and four game modes: Arcade, Practive, Story and Survival. The price is € 5.49.
[Update: we have integrated the new features of TomTom 1.2 in the review]
Here we go again, this time I tested for you CoPilot Live Europe Edition. I compared it to the best selling Navigation app in Europe, TomTom.
Recent study has shown that CoPilot is doing very well in the first days in the App Store. After using it myself, I have to admit that I really start liking the application.
Can it dethrone TomTom or come as close as Navigon? The result is excited to say the least.
Well keep reading this extensive compare review for all the details explained.
CoPilot is quickly releasing more regional versions. They just released a special France edition for 33,99 Euro and one for Germany, Austria and Switzerland for the same price.
This brings the total Editions for them on 8 now following TomTom with 10 editions and Navigon with 11 editions. Most logically the maps of Nordic and Australia will follow.
CoPilot Live has posted their first free update for the UK iPhone application. It brings safety camera alerts, dial a POI, recover after a phone call and also some GPS enhancements.
The future product update pipeline holds; TTS and 3D buildings, which is also coming real soon.

Is it possible that AT&T has actually heard and understood what its customers think? “We have heard you and we are on it!” is the new corporate message to its customers.
The carrier produced a video to provide reasons why it has taken the company so long to provide one of the most basic features of all phones, MMS messaging. The Apple like video features “Seth the blogger guy”. Seth goes on to explain how data usage because of smart devices has increased 300% and AT&T has spent billions of dollars to prepare for MMS.

Resolution
Please update to iTunes 9. If updating to iTunes 9 does not resolve the issue, please continue:
The error will most commonly occur while syncing music. This issue can be resolved by following these steps:

2.Click the Music tab and under the Sync music option, choose Selected playlists.
3.Deselect the Voice Memos playlist.
4.Click Apply and then click Sync.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, check the device and the iTunes library for duplicate voice memos. If you find any duplicate voice memos, delete the duplicates and then sync.
If those steps do not resolve the issue, then follow these steps:
1.Select the iPhone or iPod touch in iTunes under Devices.
2.Click the Music tab and deselect the Sync Music option.
3.Click Apply and then click Sync.
4.After the sync is complete, reselect the Sync Music option.
5.Click Apply and then click Sync.
If the Error 13019 occurs while syncing content other than music (applications, podcasts, and so on), then perform the same steps above but uncheck the content that stops syncing with Error 13019.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, attempt to sync an empty iTunes music library to the device while logged in as a new admin user. Follow these steps to create a new admin user:
