This iPhone case should be a brilliant idea. The iPhone 3G has a mediocre battery life, so why not supplement it with a protective case that moonlights by generating electricity from a tiny solar panel? Why not?
Because it doesn’t work. Read on to find out what happened when I took the Solar Case for a spin.

Brussels // 06-09-2008 // R.Bollen // The fine people of OtterBox were so nice to send us an iPhone Armor case to test drive. When opening the packages I noticed that the name of the case “Armor” is truly valid. My first thought was, this is being used by the US-army for sure.
I opened the 2 handles, to open the case and inserted the iPhone. Notice that the case has a little headphone connection pin to connect the iPhone through the waterproof case.
Testing grounds were needed so I decided to take it first with me to a big music festival and secondly on vacation to the beach.
I made an appointment with friends at the festival like we use to do every year. With the loud music, SMS is the only option of conversation. I took out the iPhone and could type (sms) through the waterproof screen protector. Even taking pictures was fine. At first the case felt a little big in my pockets but I stopped noticing it after a while. Mission completed, after 15 hours of music, drinks and mixed weather (rain and sun) my beloved iPhone was still alive and kicking. Note that last year my Sony-Ericsson GSM died there after dipping in my drink by accident.
The vacation is the ultimate test for this case, because sand and water are a gadgets biggest enemy. This gets a bit scary, the case can be even under water for almost an hour. I did not have the guts to prove this but I can assure you that it can handle the occasional water splashing we had.
This is the ULTIMATE protection for your first generation iPhone, highly recommended for everyone who does outside camping / sports / vacations.
Thanks OtterBox! www.otterbox.com

One thing I can state for certain, voice command of a cell phone is a must have feature in the car. Sure it comes in handy other places too but since I’ve been carrying an iPhone 3G I sure miss being able to do simple call-related functions by voice. BlueAnt is stepping up with the first Bluetooth headset that puts voice command on the headset itself for use with phones that don’t have that capability. Can you say iPhone? I knew you could.

While the iPhone and iPod Touch are pretty good for watching movies by yourself, what about those times when you want to share?

Some people like to customize things according to their needs. I have seen many people having customized gadgets and other stuff. When I speak about gadgets, the first thing that strikes my mind is iPhone. Customizing an iPhone with different colors would be great isn’t it?
