iPhone Buzz first covered the Juice Pack for the iPhone way back in early December, and we have been waiting patiently for its arrival. Nearly six months later, I’m thrilled to report that it is finally here. Was the wait worth it? Heck yes! The package arrived directly from mophie earlier today, so I haven’t had adequate time to thoroughly put the Juice Pack through a rigorous test yet.

Not long ago, Phil Lu of Genoco came up with an idea to bring your iPhone and a visit in Starbucks together. The idea was to get your Starbucks coffee quick and fast in ordering and paying just with your iPhone in your palm.
The cool thing, Phil’s idea involved a payment solution with semacodes, which are commonly used in other countries for underground transportation and so on.

Apple in the second of two interesting patent filings revealed this week discusses techniques for improving the iPhone’s ability to serve as a multi-party communication environment, in which participants on conference calls can be assigned to virtual position in order to improve clarity.
The technique is particularly suited for communication devices with at least two speakers available for audio output, such an iPhone with a connected pair of earphones or headset.

According to NetBlender, iPhone and iPod touch users will be able to control their Blu-ray players using an application called BD Touch. The application will use the network capabilities of Blu-ray hardware and Apple’s handheld devices to transfer data, allowing you to do many different things beyond controlling movie playback. After reading about the iPhone for a while, memorising facts from its spec-sheet is just an occupational hazard. So, Apple’s cellphone has a maximum screen resolution of 640 x 480 for compatible content… doesn’t it? Ars Technica say no, and they’ve been playing with video that encoded at 720 x 576, 25fps on both the iPhone and the iPod Touch, a figure that’s funnily enough exactly the same as a PAL DVD.

It’s been on the market for just six months, and already the iPhone (plus its Wi-Fi-only variant, the iPod Touch) is the most used mobile browser for Internet access in the U.S., according to Irish researcher StatCounter. Piper Jaffray has introduced new research which shows Apple to be the predominant digital music and device brand among US teenagers.
