iPhone World newsWith the release of the iPhone 3G, Apple will be in a completely new cell phone market in Japan. Apple recently posted a new iPhone 3G Guided Tour on the Japanese Apple website, undoubtedly to get the Japanese warmed up to the iPhone.

While there are no new apparent features shown, Apple does show off the character recognition (which is really slick when you see it in action).

Thousands of Canadians are absolutely outraged over the iPhone 3G plans that Rogers Wireless will be offering on July 11th and they just aren’t going to take it anymore. Some are so ticked off that they are willing to suffer through a $500 Early Cancellation Fee in protest. And it’s not just us online geeks that feel this way.

iPhone World newsDaaaamn, talk about clout. If DigiTimes’ sources are correct, then Samsung, the world’s primary supplier of flash memory, just told its non-Apple customers to suck it in favor of a “large batch of orders” it received from Cupertino. The order is said to be for 50-million “8Gb-equivalent” (we assume they mean gigabyte, or GB) NAND chips “mainly for use in Apple’s iPhone.”

The thousands of consumers planning to snap up a 3G iPhone when they go on sale next month could be hit with bills of thousands of pounds if they download music or programmes overseas, industry insiders warned last week.

Apple and its partner O2 have used the unlimited download facility in much of its marketing for both the first iPhone that hit the shops last November, and the new 3G model, which will be available free on some O2 tariffs.

Like many other iPhone owners, I am in one of the 22 countries that will get the 3G iPhone on July 11th and like many other iPhone owners I will be getting the new 3G iPhone. When I first thought about upgrading I thought we would be trading in our first generation Apple iPhone for the new 3G iPhone but I have not seen anywhere say that you have to do this.

SingTel and Apple have announced that they will be bringing the much anticipated iPhone 3G to Singapore later this year. But of course, this isn’t news to those of you who read my blog because I wrote an exclusive post on April 1 about the iPhone in Singapore:

My source also told me that Singtel will offer the 8GB and new 16 GB iPhone models - both are 3G enabled! He said that they are still working out the pricing details.

iPhone World newsBrussels // R.Bollen // 9-6-2008 // Again, some new potential iPhone photos have been published. This time of the unboxing process of an NDA package that apparently cannot be opened before Tuesday the 10th of June.

It looks real to me, it has a camera on the front for video calls and it looks a bit bigger then the current iPhone. In some hours from now we will know more when Steve Jobs give his keynote at the WWDC08, San Francisco, Moscone west.

Apple have been seeking international deals for their iPhone for some time now, and one of the biggies has to be China, as if Apple can actually strike a deal with China then the abundance of unofficial unlocked iPhone over there just may cut back a bit, and besides there are more people in China than there are in America so makes for good business to break into the Chinese market.
